Sound Proof

Chapter 5
The First Dream
Silence was confused; he was in his home town. He looked around; everything was the way it was. No buildings were destroyed; the trees where still standing and, he saw his parents, his parents were there too. He looked down at himself, he wasn't transformed! He had normal human hands, but they looked much younger. He was also much shorter than his parents. He knew he shouldn't be this short even if he had no idea how tall his parents were.
He looked up at his mother. Her sweet face formed a large smile, and she held out her hand. Silence took it and they began to walk. They walked for what seemed like forever. His parents spoke, but he heard no sound. Only a dull humming sound rang in his ears and it seemed to be getting louder and louder as they walked.
Finally he could no longer stand the sound; it was deafening. He ripped his hand away from his mother and clasped his ears. The sound continued, he looked up at his mother and father, they where running; everyone as running from something unknown to him. He held out his hand to his mother and father, pleading them to come back. Then he turned and saw a pitch dark shadow approaching him. It as massive, and soon the darkness swept him away.
The sound stopped and he opened his eyes. He looked around; he was in a dark room. He lay in a bed. He tried to move, but pain erupted from his body as he did so he lay still. Then he began to remember the chimera and they village.
"A dream," he said remembering the nightmare he had just had. "All but a dream, go to sleep," he said to himself and slowly drifted off.
